It’s a good thing when you can have a party with a purpose, but it’s an even BETTER thing when you can have a concert with a purpose. That seems to be exactly what the folks over at Global Citizen seem to be after.
Earlier this year, they sponsored the Global Citizen Earth Day concert in Washington, DC to celebrate “Mother Earth” and help continue with the initiatives to preserve the planet and make people aware of the effects of doing so. It’s just been released that they are bringing back the Global Citizen Festival, which champions and fights to end poverty and inequality around the world.
The Global Citizen Festival is a free-ticketed event on the Great Lawn in Central Park in New York City on Saturday, September 26, 2015. The Festival is timed to coincide with the launch of the United Nations’ new Global Goals designed to fight inequality, protect our planet and end extreme poverty by 2030. The Global Citizen Festival will channel the power of hundreds of thousands of global citizens lending their voices to achieve policy and financial commitments that will shape the success of these Goals.
To make things even more exciting, Beyonce, Pearl Jam, Ed Sheeran and Cold Play will be the headliners of this event. Although tickets ARE free, they won’t be easy to win, you’ll have to do multitude of “tasks” to win your ticket. Hop on over to Global Citizen’s website for all your details.
