The DMV surely does love Kendrick Lamar because he’s ALWAYS performing in the area! Earlier in the summer he headlined the 2015 Sweetlife Festival, then announced that he was going to perform alongside the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, and NOW he just announced his newest venture, which he recently announced via his Instagram page.
The “Kunta’s Groove Sessions” tour will take place in “8 cities, 8 nights, 8 intimate shows”, with only a hand full of dates/cities being announced so far. Granted that he’s being mum on the full list of tour dates, we’re guessing he quickly posted the DC date as a “thank you” gift to his DMV fans because of the chaos with his October 20th show at the Kennedy Center. If you hadn’t heard, tickets for that performance sold out in under 5 minutes, partly due to the venue releasing the majority of the tickets during a special member presale the day before general sales started.
K.Dot is being backed by The Wesley Theory and Jay Rock for the 8 date stint. Tickets go on sale Friday morning, October 9th at 10am for the general public via Ticketmaster, but a special TDE Fan club presale happens the day before on October 8th.
