Everybody here at Concert Daily certainly loves good music, and a lot of us are huge fans of R&B. We especially have a huge place in our hearts for the R&B of the 90’s. At the end of the 1990’s, music experienced an influx of young budding starlettes in all of it’s genres.
One of those young ladies to emerge during that time was Washington, DC’s own. Mýa released her self-titled, double platinum, debut album, Mýa, in 1998. The album launched the then 18-year-old Mýa into the fabric of pop-culture.
Granted she’s been releasing music on the underground scene, much of the general public has been missing the performance force that Mýa once was. Little to our surprise, she’s been scheduling a few spot dates around the United States, and one that caught our attention was the most, was her show back home.
Slated for Friday, May 13th, Miss Mýa will take over the historic Howard Theatre for a one night only concert. Some of her more recent shows have seen her take a more acoustic approach, but we can only hope and wish that she brings the full package, including some of her phenomenal dancing skills. Tickets for the show are $30 and now on sale via Ticketmaster.
