2017 Governors Ball Lineup Revealed

The “official” start to the Summer is really Memorial Day weekend, but nothing says Summer’s here in New York City than the annual Governor’s Ball Music Festival.

This year, the event takes place from June 2nd – 4th at the usual spot, which is Randalls Island Park. Upon a quick glimpse at the lineup, I have to say that this year’s show is EXTREMELY Hip-Hop heavy, which is a great thing, as it’s no secret that we at Concert Daily love our R&B and Hip-Hop music.

Chance The Rapper along with Childish Gambino are two of the star headliners. Rock band Tool will play their first show in the NYC area in over a decade! If you’re a true Tool fan, you won’t want to miss this.

Tickets to Governors Ball go on sale Friday, January 6th at noon at govball.com.

Coachella 2017 Lineupe Revealed…Beyoncé, Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar Headline

Well well well, it seems as if the 2017 Coachella Music Festival is fully stacked this year. The annual festival which literally takes place in the middle of the desert doesn’t need ANY help with keeping things hot, as the dry heat usually takes care of that, but this year will be a scorcher with the help of some pretty hot artist.

Taking on the task of headlining the two weekend festival are the Queen Bey herself, Beyoncé, along with Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead. As we know, the internets today are a savage place when it comes to finding out information, and for some time now, there have been some rumors and hype around Beyoncé actually taking a crack at performing, and they seemed to have proven to be true. This will also be K.Dot’s first time headlining the infamous fest.

The festival takes place April 14-16 and April 21-23 in Indio, Calif, and it looks pretty evident that they have upped the ante in comparison to past years. The remaining lineup is packed full of music from all genres, so you won’t be skimped out on any musical greatness at all.

If you’re interested in snagging some passes, you HAVE to act fast as these are an extremely hot ticket item, but they won’t be cheap. The baseline ticket will be the 3-day general admission pass, which starts at $399, but if you want to feel extra special, you can cop a VIP pass for $899. Tickets for both weekends go on sale Wednesday, January 4th at 8 AM EST via Coachella’s official site.

Prince Celebration At Paisley Park Set For April 2017

Can you believe that we are almost at the end of the year, and about to go into 2017? Nope, we can’t believe it either. With 2016 being a rough year musically with the loss of one of the legendary musical greats, Prince Roger Nelson, we kind of are looking towards the new year for a fresh start.

Speaking of the Purple One, apparently we aren’t the only ones who have our eyes set forth for 2017. Prince’s estate, in conjunction with Paisley Park, will ‘party like it’s 1999’ with Celebration 2017, a four-day festival at his former residence. Fans are invited to take part in the event which takes place from April 20th-23rd at Paisley Park. The event will tap into the talent of a few of Prince’s contemporaries, as well as artists whose careers he help launch including The Revolution, Morris Day and The Time, New Power Generation, Liv Warfield, Shelby J. and 3RDEYEGIRL to perform. Other acts will be added to the lineup as well.

CELEBRATION 2017 will honor and celebrate the life and legacy of Prince, as the world marks the first anniversary of his passing. Bringing together musicians, creative personnel, special guests and friends who worked closest with Prince and knew him best, these four days will feature live music, panel discussions and presentations on Prince’s tremendous talent, influence and importance as a composer, musician, producer, live performer and filmmaker.

We hope that you brought your wallet and credit cards with you, because tickets START at $500, but it’s for a multi-day pass. If you’re interested in going, grab your passes at the Celebration website.

Kanye West Headlines The ComplexCon, Set For November 5-6 In Long Beach

Well look at this, we have a new music festival of sorts folks.

The people over at Complex magazine are making a major move by curating their own convention to represent popular culture in all facets of entertainment. The inaugural ComplexCon will be held November 5 & 6 at the Long Beach Convention Center.

“ComplexCon is an expertly curated convention and festival that brings the world of Complex to life. This is our generation’s World Fair. The minds behind Complex have come together with a Host Committee that includes legendary artist Takashi Murakami, award-winning producer Skrillex and our Cultural Director/Executive Chair Pharrell Williams to imagine a place where creators, curators and YOU converge to celebrate and shape our culture.”

It’s good to see that this will be a well rounded event, because many times cons will just feature exhibitors and panels where guest speak on a specific topic, leaving little to no room for live entertainment, but being that Complex is a music magazine, how dare they think to leave that out?

Kanye West, Skrillex, Kid Cudi, and Travis Scott all lead the pack as the evening/headline performers, while the day activities will see many other artist take the stage.

Ticket prices run between $45-$450, and are currently on sale via the ComplexCon website.

Outkast To Reunite At Coachella

After much speculation, the rumor that Outkast will be reuniting at Coachella 2014 has been confirmed. Organized Noize member Rico Wade spilled the beans during an interview with Stereogum. Wade hopes that his little cousin, Future, will join the previously defunct group during their set at this years festival.

Will this be followed by news of a reunion album? Tour? Only time will tell but we look forward to seeing the duo take to the same stage again.

Coachella 2014 kicks off it’s first weekend April 11th-13th and its second weekend April 18th-20th. Advance ticket sales have ended but the site will be updated shortly and ticket sales will resume. We will keep you up to date with ticket information when it becomes available.
