There are many things in life that people enjoy spending their money on, but two of those things that comes first to my head are live concerts and sporting events. We already know that with the way that that the economy has been working as of lately, inflation has impacted both of these industries, making costs of either event, well costly.
The Washington Wizards are helping take the brunt off of that ordeal by offering you the chance for a buy one get one free type of deal. Starting in December, the franchise is kicking off its Friday Night Concert Series, which is a totally free concert after specific games at the Verizon Center.
The first of the advertised shows takes place on December 31st, when four-time Grammy Award nominated artist Tank and DJ Quicksilva will tipoff the concert series with a performance that will also feature a special guest appearance by four-time Grammy Award nominee Johnny Gill of New Edition.
Other acts throughout the months will be:
Jan. 6 – Backyard Band, Team Familiar, and DJ Rico
Mar. 17 – Bell Biv Devoe, and DJ Money
Mar. 24 – Erica Campbell and DJ Enya
Again, these shows are totally free, but only with the purchase of a game ticket for that night’s Wizards game. For ticket information call 202-661-5050 or visitwww.washingtonwizards.com/concertseries.
“Never trust a big butt and a smile” has been a resounding phrase that we originally heard for the first time in 1990 with the release of “Poison”, and although the New Jack Swing era of music has now gone defunct, this song still gets every party/club jumping.
2015 marks BBD’s 25th celebratory anniversary for the crossover R&B/Pop hit “Poison”. To observe this milestone, BBD has been tour, as well as publish an all encompassing biographical book, produce TV and film projects and much more. “BBD” vows to keep it rockin’ for their fans until the wheels fall off!

Can you believe it’s been 25 years since the first time you’ve heard the line “Never trust a big butt and a smile”? Neither can we. This year Bell Biv Devoe, more notably referred to as B.B.D. are celebrating their silver anniversary of being a group.
Along with bringing us great hits over the years, they have also been known for an excellent and hype stage show. So it’s no surprise that they are going to be returning to the legendary Howard Theatre in Washington, DC on Friday, October 23 for a live concert.
Tickets just went on sale this morning, but with all of the fans that B.B.D. have garnered over the years, especially in the DMV area, they WILL sell out. Get your tickets now from Ticketmaster.
As everyone knows, Feb 14 is stamped on the calendar and reserved for lovers, but this year, it’s not just only carrying the conventional “lovers” meaning. This year, Valentine’s weekend is more so for the lovers of one of my favorite eras in music, the New Jack Swing movement. On the upcoming mini tour branded the “New Jack Swing Valentine’s Love Jam” that sees only a handful of cities, you’ll have the privileged of seeing influential musical acts such as Blackstreet, Bell Biv Devoe, SWV, Tony Toni Tone, Envogue and After 7. Check the dates below to see if the show is coming to an area near you, and although the dates are few and in between, with a line up like this, we can only hope that the tour schedule is extended to a full on tour.
Tickets can be purchased on Ticketmaster.com
New Jack Swing Valentine Love Jam Tour Dates

Feb. 14 – Merrillville, IN., Star Plaza Theatre
