We’ve just found out that Ms. Monáe has been tapped to return to the District of Columbia to perform a concert at George Washington University on Saturday, September 26. The Neo Age Showcase Sets A New Footprint In The DMV

Over the years, the “Chocolate City” and surrounding areas has been known to produce many soulful musical greats such as Marvin Gaye, Roberta Flack, Toni Braxton, Johnny Gill, Meshell Ndegeocello and many more. There has been a gap in time between now and then that those artist reigned supreme and we had music, until now. A group by the name of Neo Elite is setting the stage to shake things up and turn the spotlight back onto the DMV and bring real music back to prominence.

How do you ask that they are going to accomplish this task, well it’s by introducing a new forum called the Neo Age Showcase. The Age Showcase is a bimonthly experience presenting the Next Generation of local and global Soul and R&B artists. Co-Created with The Historic Howard Theatre, Neo Age Showcase features four talented artists, accompanied by a band, an in show sing off, and will be donating a percentage of total ticket sales Each show to non-profits organizations.

The debut of the bi monthly showcase will take place on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 7pm with Reesa Renee, Aaron Camper, BOOMscat and ShaMain evening out the bill. What makes this lineup unique is the method of which each act is selected; out of the four acts, there will be one Rising Artist with buzz from the DMV Community, one Rising Artists with Talent from the House Studios AGP Program, one Rising Artist with Buzz and Legitimate Established Fanbase from outside the DMV, and one Rising Artist that has built a Legitimate Following and Fanbase from the DMV.

Ticket prices range from $20-$45 and can be purchased at the Howard Theatre’s website.

Ms. Ross, “The Boss”, Will Reach Out And Touch Downtown Baltimore

“Icons” and “Legends” are words that are thrown around pretty loosely these days, given to some artist who aren’t really deserving of them. These terms should only be reserved for those specific TALENTED group of people who left us musically in awe. One of those performers is Motown legend and former front-woman of the Supremes, Ms. Diana Ross.

Diana Ross’ famed and remarkable career spanning almost five decades has resulted with major awards and accolades and music history milestones. Diana Ross is a consummate performer as well as one of the most iconic female singers of all time and one of the most prominent women in popular music history and pop culture of the late 20th century.

With all of that said, she’s still making music and doing live performances, one of which will be in Baltimore. The show, which is part of her long running “In The Name Of Love Tour”, will bring Diana Ross to the Pier Six Pavilion in Baltimore’s historic Inner Harbor on Sunday, September 13, 2015 @ 7:30 pm. Baltimore’s Annual African American Festival Set For June 20-21

Summer festival season is in full swing people and the one that really gets things started in the DMV area, is the Baltimore African American Festival, referred to locally as AFRAM.

In the first installment of Concert Daily’s new feature “On The Daily Comeup”, where we will take the time to give some shine and attention to new, or not-so-new, local/indie artist around the globe who we recognize are putting in work by creating a name for themselves and making moves, we are choosing an artist by the name of PatriceLive.

Welcome to the DC/Maryland/Virgina area, more notably referred to the DMV, a place that’s rich in history, culture and music. There’s so many big named talented artist that has come from here that we can’t even count, but on the opposite side of the spectrum, you’ll find a lot of undiscovered and up-and-coming artist who have a nice balance between sheer raw talent, and the passion and drive to help catapult their career. Patrice Jones-Nickols, known more synonymously by her stage name PatriceLIVE, is one of those artist who is destined for greatness.

We won’t call her a “struggling artist”, since she HATES that reference, but she is a is a rising artist who has been actively involved in music since the age of five.  As a brand, PatriceLIVE encompasses the strong stage presence and captivating performances that Patrice is known for as an artist.
