Thebe Neruda Kgositsile (born February 24, 1994), better known by his stage name Earl Sweatshirt, is an American rapper and member of the Los Angeles-based hip hop collective Odd Future. He is signed to Columbia Records, as well as his own label, Tan Cressida. Earl gained recognition and critical praise for his debut mixtape, Earl. Following its release, he was sent to a boarding school in Samoa by his mother until his eighteenth birthday. On August 20, 2013, he released his debut studio album, Doris. Since the release of his first album, Earl has been throwing out tracks occasionally to keep his fans at bay until a new project is out.
Recently he has announced an extensive, 3-month, 31-date “Not Redy 2 Leave” tour with Vince Staples and Remy Banks. The tour will hit the major markets like New York City, Boston, New Orleans, Los Angeles and Philadelphia. The North American leg of the tour wraps up in May, but then Sweatshirt heads over the Europe for a few festivals in the UK and Netherlands including the Disclosure and Wild Life Festival.
