The Feelin’ Was Real: Lalah Hathaway & Anthony Hamilton Captures The Soul of Downtown Baltimore

The Modell Performing Arts Center of Baltimore, more affectionately known simply as The Lyric played host to a concert experience last night that I’m still trying to find true words for.

Soul balladeer Anthony Hamilton, along with Lalah Hathaway and Eric Benet brought his What I’m Feelin’ Tour to Downtown Baltimore, on what felt like the first true Fall night of the season. The air was cool and crisp, the sky pitch black by 7:30 PM, but that didn’t stop folks from coming out to see this show. SoulFest Returns To The Shores Of Australia For Second Year

Soulfestban

The Commonwealth of Australia is often known for its koala bears, kangaroos, and the Outback (no, not the steakhouse, but the geographical location) but during the month of October, it will be known for something a little different, more namely soul. Dubbed as the country’s only annual hip hop and neo-soul festival, Soulfest is coming back to Australia for its 2nd year with a lineup that is bound to get any hip hop head into a fan-girl frenzy.

SoulFest 2015 just recently announced their headliners for the series of concerts to trek across the continent. The bill features the likes of Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, Charlie Wilson and De La Soul to lead the pack for the more established artist, but that’s not all that they have. Floetry, Jhene Aiko, BJ The Chicago Kid, Eric Benet, Talib Kweli, and Dwele help round out a list of people who will be set to take the stage, with this just being the first round of announced performers. What’s most exciting about this show is that it’s filling the long-standing gap in the Australian urban market. Keep checking back for who else will be added to these shows.
