The 2016 Summer Spirit Festival Becomes A Two Day Event August 6-7th

The DMV brings you numerous musical festivals each year, and one of them that we look forward to the most is the Summer Spirit Festival, which is slated to take place at the Merriweather Post Pavilion on August 6-7, 2016. Yes everybody, you read that right, they have NOW made this a weekend long event! In past years, we were only restricted to a Saturday afternoon full of fun and good music. Each year’s lineup is always solid, but this year might be one for the books. With two days full of music comes two big headlining acts, and who else is there to set off a weekend of soul and spirit filled fun than Jill Scott and Erykah Badu. They’ll be joined by other supreme talents like Janelle Monáe, The Roots, and Daley, Kindred The Family Soul among many more.

Last year, we were graced with the return of Floetry, Erykah Badu, Anthony Hamilton, Estelle and others as the headliners of the show, and they certainly brought the house down.

Tickets for this event will go on-sale Friday, April 8th on Ticketfly or at the Merriweather Box Office.
